(500) Days of Summer

This film has such a cute soundtrack...with Regina Spektor's 'Us' and The Smiths 'There is a light that never goes out'

It's just cute

I had all my students' exams on Thursday! My first lot of students exams are finished for a while. After the exams, Kate and I went back to her house and we watched Perks of being a wallflower in onesies :)  Then started to watch (500) days of summer - and we loved the soundtrack. I really like the film too. I'm surprised that I wasn't irritated by the whole non-chronological-ness of it.

Now we have to sit back and wait for the results.

Work experience/ volunteering in Africa

Oh man I'm so excited!!!

I'm going to Morogoro in Tanzania (East Africa) for 2 weeks for work experience and volunteering!

How exciting!

But I have  busy list of difficult and time consuming things to do before I go:

  1. major revision for AS levels
  2. Get to A grade standard in all my subjects (note: trickiest part of my list)
  3.  Take all my AS level exams
  4. get a million and one jabs, malaria tablets, flights, insurance, visa, scrubs, suitable clothing etc.
  5. Music composition and performance deadline
  6. go to 3 concerts - Halestorm, Deaf Havana and Panic! at the disco
  7.  Band trip to Belgium at the end of April for 5 days ish
  8. Revise for UKCAT because I'm not going to have time after

On top of this i'm still working twice a week (taking up practically my entire Saturdays) and I'm doing work experience every week at the hospital on Fridays.

A chance of a once in a lifetime opportunity ...?

I have been given the chance of a once in a life time experience to travel to a third world country for a number of weeks, shadowing medics in hospitals and enjoying the culture.

It'll be breath-taking, eye opening, beautiful and unfamiliar... but also a bit risky.

The thought of it makes me excited and nervous at the same time.

Should I take the opportunity?

No make up selfie nomination :)

I was nominated for a Cancer awareness selfie thingymabob. To be honest, I'm not usually a fan of nominations and stuff. Especially if they want me to take of my dark eye-liner (aka comfort zone). However, i'll make an exception for this one. I have volunteered in increasing awareness of the Mouth cancer screening accreditation scheme amongst Dentists and feel that is far more useful than taking a hideous picture of myself without make up on -  but i do agree that this is raising awareness!:) why not

I've been reading some of my blog posts from the last few months. I'm such a cringey person sometimes. Who does a 'top 10 ingredient list'?

Let the concerting begin!

Okay so we're going to:
1. Halestorm
2. Deaf Havana (not to be confused with 'Death of Anna' aha)
3. Panic! At the disco
4. Reading

Something to make me a bit more upbeat around exam times - can't do too much collateral damage

Oh well

Latest addiction maybe?

I'm slightly addicted to supernatural at the moment..I started season 1 after Christmas and I'm currently midway through season 5 . I have reached mine and my sister's favourite scene on the last episode of the third disc - made me laugh for 5 minutes straight :S (again writing for my future benefit here).

This is the perfect episode to watch if I'm in a bad mood :P
